Liz Myska, an advocate for the disabled, has been setting up an event to recognize this day designated as an acknowledgement of the visually impaired and their accomplishments. Her event commorates the day by having dignitaries wear blindfolds and walk city sidewalks while being lead by either a sighted or visiually- impaired guide. The blindfolded dignitaries experience the difficulties of having to navigate their way through city sidewalks. Their experiences are then shared through a discussion.
