Sometimes the little guy wins.
After 25 years of searching, and 2 years of litigation, Worcester's Teresian Carmelite monks will be signing a purchase agreement for a 99-acre site in Paxton that the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative called "one of the best locations for wind energy on land in the state."
If all goes according to plan, the monks (currently living on Chrome St) will build both a monastery and a wind farm. Wind turbines will generate electricity for thousands of homes, and income from the wind farm will finance an anti-poverty program.
