On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Plumley Village Apartments hosted a Town Hall-style forum for Worcester City Council District 2 candidate, Jennithan Cortes. Plumley Village—owned by leading nonprofit housing developer The Community Builders, Inc.—extended the invitation to Cortes and Candy Mero-Carlson who is also vying for the seat.
Mauro DePasquale, executive director of WCCA-TV moderated the forum which was attended by more than 40 residents. Cortes answered numerous questions on topics ranging from education to neighborhood safety from a panel of residents and audience members. Incumbent School Committee candidate, Hilda Ramirez also attended and spoke at the event.
