Our next TV Production Class starts on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the WCCA TV studio in downtown Worcester. The class provides useful information about all components involved in TV production, including the use of our production equipment, cameras, lights, Adobe Premiere editing software, and studios. A certificate will be given upon completion. The class is offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. To reserve your seat, call 508-755-1880 ext. 114, or stop by our facility at 415 Main St. in Worcester. Our TV Production class is fun, informative, and a must for all aspiring TV producers!

WCCA TV Special Presentations
“Our Stories” is a series of interviews produced by WCCA TV’s intern Kevin Figueroa. The series features individuals who are following their dreams and ambitions. In this episode, Kevin interviews C.J. Hall, an animal keeper at the EcoTarium. They discuss C.J.’s appreciation for animal conservation and the importance of maintaining resources necessary for the survival of these animals. C.J. also talks about his work with a MassWildlife project aimed at increasing the population of the Red Bellied Cooter Turtle.
In this episode, Kevin interviews singer/songwriter Fanta Vibez. They discuss her influences and the hurdles she has overcome to reach her current position in the music industry.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Joyce Tavon, CEO of the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance. They discuss how homelessness is compounded by mental illness, addiction, and major health issues. Joyce also talks about the need for increased affordable housing and more support services.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Nick Noble, host of “The Folk Revival” on the Worcester Public Radio Station, WICN. He is also a former history teacher. Nick combines his love of history and folk music by telling the stories behind folk songs on his radio show. He believes it’s important to play both classic folk songs and the music of contemporary acoustic guitar musicians.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Deb Shear, Chief Advancement Officer at the EcoTarium. They discuss her interest in promoting environmental stewardship and how the museum has given her an opportunity to contribute to animal conservation. Deb discusses the museum’s future plans, including expanding to allow for more interactive, technological exhibits and expanding early childhood learning.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Gail Steele, Director of ‘Theatre at the Mount’. They discuss her love of theater and how the positive impact of ‘Theatre at the Mount’ has created something valuable. They also talk about people auditioning at ‘Theatre at the Mount’ from far outside the Central Mass area.
In this episode, Kevin interviews singer-songwriter Jerard Rice. They discuss how Jerard began writing at the age of 12 and some of the struggles he has had to overcome.
In this episode, Kevin Figueroa is interviewed by Morgan Fox. Kevin, a musician and actor, talks about his enjoyment in creating and performing. He mentions his goals of gaining more experience in film-making and acting, and emphasizes the importance of pursuing one’s ambitions.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Laura Marotta, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Creative Hub Worcester. Laura discusses her passion for bringing the creative arts to the Worcester community and making creative art accessible. She shares her current goal of opening The Hub at its future location on 2 Ionic Avenue in Worcester.
In this episode, Kevin interviews guitarist & songwriter Michael Andreoli. They discuss how Michael’s father introduced him to the guitar and taught him the basics. Michael also talks about the type of music he aims to write.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Mike Jones, a biologist with Mass Wildlife. Mike recalls his childhood fascination with turtles and how it sparked his interest in animals, their habitats, and survival resources. He discusses the challenges animals face due to climate change and shrinking habitats.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Victor Infante, a fiction writer, poet, and journalist. Victor, an editor for the Telegram and Gazette, Worcester Magazine, and Worcester Living Magazine, shares his love of writing since elementary school. He discusses his challenges with depression, anxiety, and overcoming the trauma of his father’s murder when he was only two. Victor hopes that people can learn from writing that trauma doesn’t have to define you and that even after experiencing trauma, you can still have compassion for others.
In this episode, Kevin interviews Stephen Mayo, also known as Victoria Obvious, a drag performer. Stephen shares how he took on the challenge of drag to prove a co-worker wrong. He discusses the hurdles he faced as a drag performer, such as finding self-confidence and self-love. - Tune in to all new episodes of The Chandler Chat in August. Host of the program and former State Senator, Harriette Chandler, welcomes the newly-appointed Administrator of the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA), Joshua Rickman, to discuss their plans for the future of public transit in Worcester – from transitioning to green energy to expanding route services and soliciting more public feedback, while maintaining and strengthening reliability and accessibility. In another episode, Harriette Chandler welcomes her former staff member and friend Elizabeth Ganz, now Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy at the Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABHMass.org). They discuss the healthcare concerns in Massachusetts, and the US more broadly, from confronting a growing deficit of providers relative to patients driven by an aging population alongside stagnant, uncompetitive wages for public healthcare workers, ballooning administration costs, and the under-funding and privatization of public services.
- Tune in to Rosen’s Roundtable for some hot topics concerning the City of Worcester. Host Gary Rosen and his panel members discuss whether a return to Happy Hours is advisable and safe because it will encourage city residents and visitors alike to drink more and then drive. They also don’t think changing the general local speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph will slow motorists down unless police enforcement is increased. Finally, with all the new affordable and market rate apartments being planned and built, is the city making an appreciable dent in its housing crisis? - Connecting the Dots is a non-traditional legal program, hosted by attorney Liz Myska. Liz invites to the program Tyler Distefano and Emily Glaubitz from the Central Mass Regional Planning Commission. They talk about city planning, transit, and navigating the city as a disabled person.
- Close to Home is a WCCA TV program about people and situations that demonstrate deep respect for mankind. Host Maureen Schwab welcomes Kate Cote, Owner & Founder of Fur Love Comfort Cats, a pet therapy service in the Worcester area that helps bring comfort to those recovering from mental, emotional or physical traumas. Joining her is purr-fessional therapy cat, Samson. You don’t want to miss this!
- Human Touch is a WCCA TV program that spotlights refugees and their stories, struggles, and triumphs in order to bring about understanding and change. Host Augustine Kanjia, as Secretary of the Massachusetts Organization of African Descendants (MOAD), welcomes everyone to participate in the Worcester African Festival taking place on Saturday, August 3rd, from 12pm – 5pm at the Worcester Common. You don’t have to be of African descent to enjoy the many African cultures that are proudly represented right here in Worcester. - Tune in to a new episode of Hidden Treasures. Host Bill Safer helps you learn how to find that hidden antique or collectible that just may add cash to your life at either a yard, garage or estate sale. Bill welcomes back to the program prolific author & collector of antiques Nick Zwirblia. They discuss how not to be taken advantage of by antique sellers, what to look for to make money on antique and flea market purchases, the various types of antiques, and how to recognize them. Nick shows several of his antiques and explains each one to the viewers.

- Senior Speak is a WCCA TV program for seniors and by seniors, hosted by community activist Edith Morgan. Edith welcomes Kathy Landry to discuss Sewing Elements, her Millbury-based sewing studio where she offers workshops, group and private sewing lessons available to all ages and skill levels. Though sewing and textile arts have fallen “out of fashion” in the modern day, there is a resurgence of young people coming to appreciate the maintenance and reuse of quality products as opposed to relying on today’s cheap, disposable and mass-produced material. Senior Speak airs on WCCA TV, Cable Channel 194 in Worcester, on Tuesdays at 12:30 PM and Wednesdays at 12 PM.
