Know Your WPS School Committee Candidates' Night

The Citywide Parents Planning Advisory Council (CPPAC) will host “Know Your School Committee Candidates’ Night” on Wednesday October 17, 2007 from 7:00-9:30 PM at the Worcester Technical High School. The moderator for the evening will be TV and radio personality Jordan Levy. Mr. Levy is a former Worcester Mayor and former School Committee member. All Worcester School Committee candidates have been invited to speak on their positions related to School Program Cuts, Budget Priorities, and Closing the Achievement Gap. School Committee Candidates will also be asked to respond to questions from members of the audience.

Elections in Worcester will be held on November 6, 2007. CPPAC is coordinating this event so that caring parents who vote in the city will have an opportunity to learn about the candidates’ positions on issues of concern.

CPPAC is an advisory council to the Administration and School Committee of the Worcester Public Schools. The council is made up of parents and guardians who represent the schools that their children attend.

WCCA planning Candidate Debates "LIVE"

WCCA TV is planning a series of debates for candidates running for City Council.

We want our members, viewers and web visitors to participate by letting us know what two to three top topics you would like to see candidates hash out in debate.

The event will be shot live and taped for encore presentations as time allows on WCCA's schedule.

If you are a candidate, please look for the soon to be announced rules and procedures for participating in this event. Information will also soon be provided regarding contacting the station and scheduling, etc.

This announcement is preliminary / pre production work.

Candidate Debates

WCCA TV is offering space for candidates to debate.

If you are a candidate for City Council and wish to debate your opponent please let us know if you are interested.

There will most likely be a number of Candidate Forums presented on WCCA TV. However this is different. This is a call for those who wish to debate live on WCCA TV 13.

Here is how is going to happen:

We're keeping it simple:
1.WCCA will be collecting topics of interest from our members, and our cable and web viewers.
Pursuant to candidate response, WCCA will announce the allotted time for each debate episode.

2.The debate(s) will take place live at WCCA TV 13

3.Date for this event will be announced by WCCA TV

4. More than one candidate running for the same office can debate at once.
