At last night's Annual Meeting, WCCA TV13 presented the 2007 program awards.

Viewers' Pick (based on the most votes from WCCA viewers): Snow Ghost Community Show

First runner-up: Video Jam and Video Jam Country. Second runner-up: tie between Flipside and Soapbox.

Staff Pick--Best Overall: tie between Video Jam and Artist Showcase

Staff Pick--Best Community Program (produced without staff assistance): tie between Vietnamese News, Shilling Shockers, and Static Fusion

Staff Pick--Best Public Access Program (produced with staff assistance): tie between Community Vision News and What It’s Worth

Staff Pick honorable mentions: Nacion Musical,
Community Vision NEWS, Albanian Hour, Senior Speak, Young Views Real News, Soapbox

Letter: "Worcester is in danger of losing out on 20 years of art history"

From the Telegram, Allen Levine:

The ongoing contract negotiations with Charter Cable threaten to shut down WCCA TV-13. For 20 years I’ve captured arts events in Worcester with my video camera.

My shows, “Organic Vapor,” “Alternative Equinox” and “Static Fusion” are locked up in WCCA and will be lost if the station is shut down.

My main concern is, how do you save all that art and not have it trash-canned by politics, lack of money and the “I don’t care” attitude of Worcester?
